Connect over OAuth

Point your assistant at your Takibi address plus /mcp, pick the profile it acts as, and disconnect it any time.

Connect your assistant

In ChatGPT or Claude, add a connector. If the setting is labeled MCP, use that. Paste this address:

https://app.takibibase.com/mcp

If your Takibi is on another address, put /mcp at the end of that address. The assistant opens Takibi to sign in. Log in as usual, including the emailed code if you use two-factor, and you land on the connect screen.

Pick the profile it acts as

The connection acts as one of your profiles, never as you. It reads only what that profile can read. Choose the profile on the connect screen. Each row names up to three collections and counts the folders and tags.

The profile needs document access and the ask or search capability. Profiles missing either, and paused profiles, stay dimmed and say why. If none of your profiles qualify, open Profiles in a new tab, set one up, then start the connection again from your assistant.

Check the app name and where it sends you back to before you choose Allow. If it sends you back to a program on your own computer, only allow it when you started the connection yourself, just now, from an app on that computer.

Know what it can do

The connector is read-only. It cannot change or delete anything in your workspace. It has three tools:

Connector tools
ToolMeaning
Ask TakibiAnswers one question in a single collection, with the passages it used and how well they support the answer.
List Takibi collectionsNames the collections and folders that profile can open. Tag-only access is left off this list.
Get Takibi documentFetches the text of one document that profile can read.

Takibi reads that profile's access on every request, so narrowing it or pausing the profile applies to the next one. A question also stops once the profile has used its daily limit.

Disconnect an app

Open Settings → Security and find Connected apps. Each row names the app and the profile it acts as. Choose Disconnect to cut its access at once.

Connecting the same app again opens the connect screen with the last profile already selected. Choose Allow to use it, or pick a different profile.
